What is North Felixstowe?
East Suffolk Council is leading the master planning process for development to the north of Felixstowe.
The project is also referred to as a leisure-led Garden Neighbourhood to make it sound more palatable with the aim of obtaining outline planning permission at the end of 2024/early 2025.
Why you should be concerned?
Felixstowe’s Ancient Woodland – ‘The Grove’ and its immediate surrounding areas including the playing fields at Eastward Ho and paddocks are under threat from Excessive development proposed by the North Felixstowe Development project.
The open space (playing fields, agricultural land) you can see in the pictures above will be developed to include allotments/farm, a community hub, high density housing development, a school, industrial/employment locations and fewer playing fields.
Do Not Let This Be Our Legacy!
Advocates for for the North Felixstowe Development repeatedly say no decisions have been made, these are only suggestions/proposals. It is certainly true they keep changing, but their aim is for outline planning permission to be granted at the end of 2024 or early 2025. Then it will become even harder to influence the project.
Say NO to the Felixstowe North Development until the planners listen and proceed with a sympathetic plan for the area which we all enjoy and will be proud is our legacy.
This isn't the only proposal
